Passed The Whispering Sands (Indonesian: Pasir Berbisik) during our drive to Savannah fields. We are lucky, fogs are coming, make the surrounding eerie (but beautiful)

Tumpal and our guide, Pak Mul (different Mul with "Mul" in previous post. We spent our night in Pak Mul's place in Ngadas Village. Totals there are 24 villages of Tenggerese, surrounding Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

Bromo, March 2012 – Part 1

I has a trip to East Java (Bromo and Malang) on the mid of March 2012. Well, busy "work-life balance" (although more work than life) delayed me to post "something" about this trip. So here is, the 1st installation of "Magnificent Bromo"
For the sunrise, we take our shot from Metingan (another view point are Mount Penanjakan 1 and Mount Penanjakan II). Frankly speaking, I'm not happy with this view point. I cannot get Batok-Bromo-Semeru view point which appeared like in many postcards

The sun already high, and the sunlight are very harsh, very contrast with the shadow below. It's not the best shot, but hope you enjoys it

04 - Tenggerese
We meet Pak Mul, a Tenggerese who offer his service (as guide) in Metingan. Spent sometimes spoke with him, and also get warm teas from his wife (they sell snacks and drinks). Here Pak Mul's pic with his son.

05 - Sea of Sands
Down from Metingan, we rent a horse (included the rider/guide) to bring us to Bromo's crater. Bromo is a sand mountain, you can see sands everywhere. Local peoples called it Segara Wedi, transalated into Sea of Sand (Segara=Sea, Wedi=Sand).
